Who I am
My name is Steven Caldwell, a 21-year-old who is a passionate video editor. I've been editing for over 10 years, and I continue to enjoy doing it. I believe video editing is an underrated art, and depending on how well it's done, it can make or break a story, whether it's a commercial, film, music video, etc.
Harper College
I currently do volunteer work for the Harper Radio, where I:
Edit video/audio
Record audio for radio sweepers
Pick music that fits the mood of what's being said in the audio
YouTube
My family and I have a channel/podcast called "Weird Around Illinois" where we talk about cryptids and anything paranormal.
What I do:
Edit and post YT shorts (mostly audio clips from our podcast)
Record episodes with my family
Occasionally edit and post additional videos to the YouTube channel, like cinematic trailers, paranormal investigations, etc.
Sometimes also do graphic design work for the channel
Helped grow the channel to over 2000 subscribers, and once edited a short that reached 20K views
High School
Throughout high school, I did video editing and other media-related projectsÂ
What I did:
Assisted with camerawork, directing, and producing morning announcements as a high school freshman
Edited video for high school's multimedia communications platform in senior year, highlighting news and events
High School
I graduated from High School in May 2021.
Harper College - Associate's Degree
I graduated in May 2024 with an associate's degree, and now I'm taking a few video and audio editing classes.
